Omeprazole Injection comes with the branding “ESOBERT 40MG” and is in the group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors(PPI’s) that are used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) stomach ulcer and in cases where there is excess acid production through the overactive Pancreas tumor known as Zollinger Ellison syndrome. Usually a dense layer of mucous shields the stomach against the acute toxins which it produces. However, the erosion is worn away by the high amount of stomach acid and may result in such conditions as GERD, peptic ulcer, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Omeprazole Injection contains omeprazole, a selective reduced stomach acid inhibitor that acts by inhibiting H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump. This proton pump is located in the gastric wall cells and is involved in secreting gastric acid secretion. This medication works by blocking the secreting of stomach acid and helps to treat those with food pipe lining inflammation, GERD or heartburn.
