Povidone Iodine Solution comes with the brand name “VIDODINE” and is used in treating skin infections that people normally would come across in their everyday lives. It cures and prevents skin diseases in wounds classified as simple partial thickness burns, wounds that penetrate through the skin layers as in cuttings, and excoriation of the skin to the level of scaling the outer layer of skin. Skin infection is a disease that results from attacks by foreign bodies such as fungi, and bacteria that invade and cause injury to the skin tissue.
Povidone Iodine Solution contains Povidone Iodine as the active ingredient. It works by limiting the action of microbial pathogens that are responsible for causing infection. Due to its small size, it goes past the microorganisms and develops a deadly ring which in turn oxidizes some basic biomolecules-protein, nucleotides, and fatty acids leading to cell death. This medicine has PVC antibacterial activity because the chemical structure of this medicine can destroy bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa.
